#SayItNow: Archie Thompson

Former Aussie soccer star Archie Thompson has given thanks to brother for his support during a difficult stage in Thompson’s career.

Speaking with Denis Walter for #SayItNow week, Thompson said making the transition from professional athlete to his current career was tough.

“I think being a man we sort of don’t tend to share our feelings very well, so this was a good opportunity to do so,” Thompson said.

“I thought of my brother straight away.

“I was coming into a different stage of my career; it’s hard to say how you’re actually feeling.

“I’m very thankful my brother has been there.”

Thompson also noted the importance of the #SayItNow campaign and how positive it was to see others reaching out.

“It’s great you’ve got emails of people there trying to reach out after so long,” he told Denis.

Thompson has dedicated his #SayItNow video to his brother Daniel. He says he’s thankful for being able to reconnect with his siblings over the past few years.
