Scalpers target tennis fans ahead of Australian Open finals
It’s been revealed more than 400 people have been scammed with fake tennis tickets, amid reports scalpers are listing dodgy tickets for this weekend’s Australian Open finals for thousands of dollars online.
One seat to the men’s final on Sunday night, with an estimated retail price of $650 dollars, is going for more than $8000 online.
As The Herald Sun reports, more than 400 people have bought tickets online, only to be turned away from the gates at Melbourne Park, realising they were fake.
Scalpers are even trying to sell ground passes to sit outside centre court and watch matches on the big screens.
Ticketek is warning spectators to steer clear of non-official sites.
