‘Schmozzle’: Tom Elliott shares his thoughts on how fear has cost the taxpayer billions

Jacqui Felgate

Tom Elliott says he believes the cost over-run on so many state government projects can be attributed to public servants fear of former Premier Daniel Andrews.

He says the findings of a recent report by Victorian Ombudsman Deborah Glass suggest staff felt they had to do whatever was asked of them by the former premier, even if it wasn’t possible.

“The public servants feared the premier, as a result, they always told the Premier what he wanted to hear,” he said.
