School evacuated, police called to conduct ‘safety check’

Salesian College was evacuated on Friday afternoon over an apparent bomb scare.

Nobody has been hurt and the scene has since been declared safe.

Meg alerted 3AW Drive to the news on Friday while picking up her younger brother from the Chadstone campus.

Victoria Police confirmed it had been called to conduct a safety check.

The scene has since been deemed safe.

“At no stage was there any danger to students, staff or community,” the school said in a statement.

“Victoria Police are investigating the situation.”
