Schoolgirl fighting for life after being hit by a truck in Melbourne’s south-east

A schoolgirl is fighting for life after being hit by a truck in Melbourne’s south-east.

The teenager was truck by the vehicle on Police Road, Mulgrave just after 3pm.

The girl is in a critical condition at The Alfred Hospital with head and chest injuries.

The truck driver, a 50-year-old man has been charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury and driving while suspended.

He is due to face court on February 7.
