School sent into lockdown following reports of youths with weapons nearby

Elsternwick Primary School was placed into a brief lockdown following reports of two males possibly armed in the area.

Police have confirmed that two male youths were located, and one of the boys was arrested for allegedly possessing a controlled weapon (baton) and a drug of dependence.

The other boy was released, no machetes were located, and the boys did not enter the school grounds.
