Scientists make ‘exciting’ fertility finding

Ross and Russ

Scientists in China have found that a substance called spermidine can reverse age-related fertility decline in mice.

Fertility specialist from the University of Melbourne, Dr Alex Polyakov, says older women could potentially benefit as the substance improves the quality and quantity of eggs.

“If it is proven or demonstrated that this particular compound has the same effect in humans, then supplementing it will allow more people to fall pregnant naturally at an older age,” he said.
