Scott Pendlebury says the new ruck rule is open for exploitation
Collingwood skipper Scott Pendlebury thinks the new ruck rule could be exploited.
Richmond scored a vital goal in Thursday night’s win when Shaun Grigg – in the unusual role of second ruckman – was held during a boundary throw-in.
Pendlebury told 3AW Football he’s concerned about the evolution of the rule.
‘I don’t think we want to get the game looking like that,’ Pendlebury said.
‘All (other) sides will see that tonight and think they can take advantage of that.
‘Every side will think ‘gee, we might be able to steal one if we can do this’. It might happen.’
Pendlebury also questioned two umpiring decisions during the match, including one which led to a Dustin Martin goal, and one which saw him penalised for a throw.
