Police have been told the driver of a Ford sedan collided with a van as it was making a right turn on the corner of South Gippsland Highway and Claremont Avenue just before 1pm on Wednesday.

The van rolled and a man inside was seriously injured.

The driver of the Ford ran from the scene and got into a dark blue sedan which was nearby.
