Search for man who set a Bendigo home alight with two people inside

Detectives are investigating after a Bendigo home was set alight while a man and 16-year-old girl slept inside.

A man approached the weatherboard house on Holdsword Road, Long Gully and set fire to the house just outside the teenager’s bedroom at about 1am on July 22.

The girl woke to find her room full of smoke and woke her 52-year-old father.

Country Fire Authority members were called and extinguished the fire.

No one was physically injured in the incident.

Police have released CCTV of a man who appears to be setting the home alight in the hope someone will recognise him.
