Search for man who threatened boy with a knife in Richmond

Police are calling for help to track down an attempted armed robber who threatened a young boy with a knife in Richmond.

Investigators have been told the man armed with a knife approached the boy, who was riding a scooter near the corner of Egan and Station streets at about 3.35pm on August 8.

The man threatened the boy and demanded he hand over his scooter.

The boy was able to ride away and was not physically injured.

Police have released computer generated images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises the man, or who witnessed the incident, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
