Search underway for female prisoner who escaped Tarrengower Prison

A search is underway for a 36-year-old female prisoner who escaped from Tarrengower Prison near Maldon this morning.

Police say the woman, who is described as Asian in appearance, is about 150 centimetres tall and weighs about 50 kilograms.

She was wearing prison greys and a high-vis vest when she fled the minimum security prison.
