Staff sacked over Molly Meldrum’s Elton John incident

The security guards who allowed Molly Meldrum onto the stage at the Elton John concert in Melbourne have been sacked.

Meldrum managed to get on stage at AAMI Park, where his pants fell down. The music critic claims a faulty belt buckle was responsible for the incident.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford says Elton John’s shows are “meticulously planned to the minute” and “several” security guards were let go because Meldrum was allowed onto the stage.
