Senator Eric Abetz on Trump’s victory

Ross Greenwood speaks with Tasmanian Senator Eric Abetz about Donald Trump’s US election victory.

Senator Abetz made reference to Australia’s relationship with USA, along with other major countries.

‘Australia will always be a strategic partner,’ he told Ross Greenwood.

‘They are just so fundamental between us irrespective of who became president those ties would remain.’

Senator Abetz says that reaction to the election campaign which has predicted doom and gloom if Trump was to be elected was ‘out of touch’.

‘That has now shown to be wrong, out of touch with the aspirations of American people.’
