Serious concerns for woman missing in Alpine region
Police say they have serious concerns for the welfare of a woman who has been missing in the Mansfield region for three nights.
Narelle Davies, (pictured above) a 52-year-old experienced long distance horse rider, last made a phone call while riding in the Howqua Hills area about 5pm Saturday.
Fellow campers saw her riding her horse (also picture above) on Saturday but she hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
Senior Sergeant Damian Keegan from the Mansfield Police Station says her car and horse float were found at the campsite where she was expected to spend the night, but she never showed.
“She was supposed to return home yesterday,” Snr Sergeant Keegan said.
“It is quite a big search, we have inclement weather predicted for later in the week.
“It’s been three nights now that she’s been up in the mountains, so we are concerned for her welfare.”
Ms Davies lives and works in the local community and is actively involved in the horse riding community.
The police air wing and SES are involved in the ongoing search.
