Serious crash closes lanes on the Calder Freeway
UPDATE: One person has died and two others have been taken to hospital after a collision involving a truck and cars on the Calder Freeway.
Paramedics were called to the scene at Taylors Lakes at 6.30am.
Eight people were treated at the scene.
The tip-truck involved in the multi-vehicle crash was travelling city-bound.
Detective Sergeant Stephen Hill from the Major Collision Investigation Unit said police were working to determine the cause of the crash.
He told Neil Mitchell today’s crash was similar to the fatal collision in Point Cook last night.
‘They are similar collisions,’ he said.
‘It drives home the message most truck drivers do drive in a safe manner, it drives home the message they need to pay even more attention.’
