Pedestrian killed in Hawthorn collision

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a truck in Hawthorn this morning.

Emergency services were called to Burwood Road shortly after 9am and intersection of Burwood Road and Power Street is closed.

The driver of the truck stopped at the scene and has spoken with police.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.

The death brings the number of lives lost on Victoria’s roads this year to 168, up from 137 at the same time last year.
