A car dealership in Melbourne’s south-east has been targeted by thieves, who have taken off with a number of brand new cars and keys to other vehicles in the yard.

Caller Alan told Neil Mitchell he test drove a Ford Everest at Wignall Ford in Hastings before going in the following morning to place a deposit, and found the dealership locked up.

“They stole seven brand new cars with no registration,” Alan said.

“I road tested one the night before, that’s how I know about it.

“They broke into the safe, the keys were all in the safe.

“They’ve got the keys to every single car in their yard.”

It’s believed the cars have combined value of about about $300,000.

Mornington Peninsula detectives confirmed they are investigating a burglary at business on Frankston-Flinders Road which occurred on Tuesday night.

They say the vehicles were stolen after burglars broke into an office and stole a number of keys just before 2.30am.

Investigators are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
