Shadow Defence Minister calls on Anthony Albanese to ‘get serious’

Shadow Minister for Defence Angus Taylor says now is an extremely important time for Australia to strengthen its relationship with America.

He’s pointed out Anthony Albanese has managed to secure three meetings with the Chinese President but none with Donald Trump.

“This is at a time when authoritarian regimes are flexing their muscles, and of course, the dictators of those regimes were there in the photo with Dan Andrews; we need to get serious about this,” he said.

The Liberal MP says the world is currently in the most dangerous period since World War II.

“We see this axis of countries who are challenging the free world and democracies in ways they haven’t in the past,” he added.
