Shadow health minister calls for independent probe after ‘bizarre’ fake patient incident

The Victorian government is investigating claims staff and family of staff at a Victorian hospital posed as patients when the Health Minister visited last year.

Health Minister Mary-Anne Thomas visited Colac Area Health in August, and it’s alleged 10 people were falsely admitted to urgent care for the visit.

Shadow health minister Georgie Crozier says “we need an independent investigation”. “You can’t have the Health Department investigating itself,” she told Jacqui Felgate.
