Shadow minister hits out at Victorian government’s tourism effort

Shadow Minister for Tourism, Sport, Events and Hospitality Sam Groth has slammed the Allan government for not doing enough to promote tourism.

The latest international tourism data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics shows Victoria is yet again the worst-performing jurisdiction in the country, with visitor arrivals falling by more than 2,000 in the year to June 2025.

“Governments have to make decisions, currently this one is making, in my opinion, decisions that aren’t in the best interest of our tourism sector,” he said on 3AW Afternoons.
