Shadow Roads Minister Danny O’Brien says a worrying number of deaths on our regional roads largely comes down to a driver issue.

Nearly four people are being killed on country Victorian roads every week, sparking concern ahead of what’s now expected to be a high fatality rate in 2025.

Mr O’Brien told Jacqui Felgate he wasn’t interested in squarely pointing the blame at the Allan government.

“It’s easy for me as an opposition member to come on and blame the government,” he said on 3AW Drive.

“But it’s not the government’s fault entirely; we all need to work together.”
