Shane McInnes’ new detail on serious issues with ambulance system

A serious incident involving ambulance availability unfolded on Saturday night, highlighting just how stretched the system currently is.
3AW Afternoons host Shane McInnes reported that after a MICA paramedic was requested in Apollo Bay, and only one was available over 180km away in Sunshine.

“This epitomises the issues plaguing our ambulance system at the moment,” McInnes said on 3AW.
“This isn’t sensationalism. This isn’t a beat up. This is the state of Victoria’s ambulance system.”
Secretary of the Victorian Ambulance Union, Danny Hill, then weighed in on the concerning story.
“It certainly doesn’t surprise me,” Mr Hill said on 3AW Afternoons.
