Shane says Sam is a ‘very slim’ chance of becoming mayor

Shane Crawford hasn’t exactly given his fellow Footy Show star Sam Newman a glowing endorsement to become Lord Mayor.

Newman has flagged an interest in replacing Robert Doyle at City Hall.

Speaking on 3AW Afternoons ahead of The Footy Show’s return for season 2018, Crawford described Newman’s chances as “very slim”.

“I do like some of the things Sam is pushing, homelessness is a big thing of his , but working 5-7 days a week isn’t Sam’s thing,” Crawford said.

“He can work a couple of hours but then he goes and shuts down and lies on his boat.”
