Shocking smash shuts Monash Freeway

A nasty smash shut the Monash Freeway on Thursday afternoon.

The freeway was closed, inbound, near Huntingdale Road.

A man was taken to the Alfred Hospital by road ambulance sustaining pelvic and leg injuries.

He is in a serious but stable condition.
