Springvale RSL volunteers have been selling poppies at Parkmore Shopping Centre for years without paying to do so, but with the centre under new management, this year they were told it would cost them $1090 plus GST.
After contacting GPT Group, which manages the centre, and failing to get answers, Springvale RSL vice-president Chris Dimitroudis contacted Neil Mitchell.
GPT Group has since apologised and waived the fee, blaming a “communication breakdown”.
