Shots fired at South Melbourne gym

Multiple gun shots have been fired at a South Melbourne gym.

Victoria Police said staff arrived at the Whiteman St fitness centre on Monday morning to find a number of shots had been blasted into the side of the building and roller door.

The incident happened shortly before 6.30am.

Port Phillip Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the shooting.

The gym was closed at the time incident.
