Shots fired during dramatic standoff in Melbourne’s north-east

A man has allegedly fired a crossbow at two police officers in Eltham.

Police drew their guns and returned fire on the 26-year-old, during the standoff on Reynolds Road yesterday afternoon.

The perpetrator hid inside the property, but surrendered to police a short time later.

He has since been charged.
