Should the voting age be lowered? Are 16-17 year olds mature enough to have a say on policies?

Youth Governor of Victoria Amanda Gailiss says the voting age should be dropped from 18 to 16 years old.

While some may not be interested in parliament or politics, she says youth are interested in ‘issues that affect them.’

‘Politics has a huge impact on their life and I think they should be able to have a say on policies that effect them in the future,’ Amanda told 3AW Drive.
