‘Shrouded in secrecy’: Australian Open bailout package criticised
State opposition MP Sam Groth says the bail9out payment issued to Tennis Australia is another example of a Labor government “shrouded in secrecy”.
It emerged on Monday that $63 million was issued to the organisers of the Australian Open, to held recoup extra costs as a result of hosting multiple Grand Slam tournaments during the COVID years.

“63 million dollars for an event that is commercially viable like the Australian Open and (the bail out) was only found out by a bunch of documents released by FOIs (freedom of information),” he told Jacqui Felgate on 3AW Drive.
“It’s just another case for the Allan Labor government shrouded in secrecy.”
