Signs Melbourne’s population is trending again in a positive direction
There are signs Melbourne may be springing back to life on the population front after two years plagued by lockdowns.
Some 32,000 people left Victoria to live in another state across 2020 and 2021, according to data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
Queensland was a state that recorded a population increase in that time.
However, more recent data from removalist company Muval has found more people are moving to Melbourne in the first half of this year.
“We are definitely seeing people come back in that younger to mid professional range,” Adam Coward, Chief Operating Officer of Muval, told Tom Elliott.
