Single dad gets ban from his daughter’s ballet room overturned

A single dad who wasn’t allowed to support his daughter at ballet has had his ban overturned.

Michael Ray was banned from the backstage area of the ballet school, who didn’t allow any men in the dressing room, even fathers.

Michael told Neil Mitchell he just wanted to be able to support his daughter, Charlie.

He said the other mums didn’t have a problem with him being there.

‘It’s not so much about me; it’s about the impact it would have on Charlie being the only child backstage that wouldn’t have a parent to share her excitement and nervousness,’ he said.

Michael said just wanted a solution that didn’t end up in Charlie being treated differently to the other children.
