Sixth person dies following Bourke Street attack
The memorial to the Bourke Street rampage victims will be removed just hours after a Blackburn South woman became the sixth person to die following the tragedy.
The 33-year-old woman died in hospital just before 7.30pm on Monday, police said.
Workers will start to remove flowers and all organic matter, which will be turned into mulch for a garden at Parliament House.
Letters and other tributes will be preserved elsewhere.
Those who also died are a 10-year-old girl, 25-year-old man, 33-year-old man, 32-year-old woman, and a three-month-old baby boy.
Police said hospitals had treated 37 other people injured during the incident, with nine of those patients remaining in hospital.
One of those is in a critical condition.
A 26-year-old man has been charged following the incident.
The Windsor man has been charged with five counts of murder with other charges pending.
He has been remanded to appear in court in August.
