Slabs snatched ahead of Warrnambool Racing Club’s biggest event of the year

Sixty slabs of beer have been stolen from the Warrnambool Racing Club just days out from the town’s biggest race meet of the year.

Unknown offenders forced entry into three shipping containers, making off with more than 1400 cans of Great Northern, Carlton Draught and Carlton Dry over the Anzac Day long weekend.

Police say the offenders would have known the shipping containers were fully stocked leading into the May Racing Carnival.

Anyone with information on the theft is urged to come forward to police.
