Sledgehammers used in attempted burglary in Melbourne’s north overnight

Police are investigating an attempted burglary in Thomastown earlier this morning.

Two male offenders allegedly used sledgehammers to smash their way into a supermarket on Main Street shortly before 3am.

Despite their best efforts, the offenders weren’t able to get into the cigarette cabinets and left empty handed

They were last seen driving away in a white hatchback.
