Sly blasts legal experts involved in the Lawyer X scandal

Sly of the Underworld has taken aim at legal experts who are calling for Lawyer X evidence to be referred to an interstate prosecutor due to a “conflict of interest” relating to Director of Public Prosecutions Kerri Judd.

Ms Judd made the decision not to prosecute police over the Nicola Gobbo scandal, and Sly stated nobody had “produced one piece of precedent which would indicate the Judd decision was unreasonable”.

The veteran crime writer said the perceived conflict of interest is “non-existent” and the lawyers are just trying to find a judge who will agree with them.
