Tim Lamb was a police officer in a past life before going on to help put together Melbourne’s AFL premiership-winning squad of 2021.

And while the Demons were unable to win the flag on the hallowed turf of the MCG, it turns out their list manager had a famous moment on the ground.

3AW Breakfast was recently discussing serial pest Peter Hore running onto the MCG and causing chaos during a World Cup qualifier that the Socceroos infamously blew against Iran at the MCG in 1997.

“There was a policeman who tackled Peter Hore and brought him to the ground with a sling tackle that would get him 12 weeks,” Sly said.

It was Tim Lamb.

“He is the one who brought him down,” Sly said.
