Sly of the Underworld: Child abuse often leads to crime later on

Sly of the Underworld says child abuse is a common thread among violent criminals.

While Cardinal George Pell gives evidence to the child abuse Royal Commission, Sly told Ross and John the effects of abuse manifest themselves in criminal behaviour.

He said many major offenders were molested when they were supposed to be in protected spaces, and not just Catholic ones.

‘Some of the most violent crooks who have impacted in Australia were damaged when they were in our care,’ Sly said.

‘We reap what we sow.’
