Sly of the Underworld: The bikie ‘spies’ planted in the police force

Crime reporter John ‘Sly’ Silvester says there have been numerous attempts by bikies to infiltrate Victoria Police.

In one case, a police academy recruit was found to be “heavily connected” to an outlaw motorcycle gang and there was “serious consideration to letting the person run to see what he would do, but the risk was too great”.

And there have been multiple instances of serving members recruited by bikie gangs, including one member who attempted to join the bikie taskforce.
