Sly Of The Underworld’s blunt message for convicted cop killer

Sly Of The Underworld has a simple message for convicted cop killer Jason Roberts – “you had your chance.”

Sly returned to 3AW Breakfast this week, rubbishing calls for a fresh appeal.

Distinguished former homicide detective Ron Iddles has come to the conclusion Roberts “probably” wasn’t involved in the murders of police officers Gary Silk and Rodney Miller in 1998.

Roberts and Bandali Debs were both convicted of murdering the police officers.

“This is a case which has gone on too long,” Sly said on Wednesday.

“He has been convicted – there is no new evidence.”

Sly said Roberts had multiple chances to clear his name, but couldn’t or wouldn’t.

“He says he was frightened of Debs? Debs was a loner, he had no underworld connections,” Sly explained.

“If he was convicted, he could have never have got at Roberts.”
