A damning report has found a culture of sexual harassment, abuse and cover-up within Victoria’s police force.
The confidential survey contains reports of female officers being sexually abused by senior officers, sometimes at police stations and in police cars.

Many victims have had suicidal thoughts and most are too frightened to come forward.
Forty per cent of respondents say they have been victims of sexual harassment
The Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission report found – much like the Catholic church – Victoria Police moved perpetrators from station to station in an attempt to cover up the abuse.
Chief Commissioner Graham Ashton has vowed to implement the recommendations of the report, which could include a compensation scheme which will cost taxpayers tens of millions of dollars.
