Sly says he’s never seen a group of police officers as angry as former and current Special Operation Group members over a memoir by a former member.

“I got furious number of texts pre-publication and post-publication saying this book was nonsense, it has now been withdrawn from sale because there’s a riveting chapter involving Port Arthur, it begins with the author saying he was on call that day and goes on to say ‘our phones rang and were told to hike it to Essendon Airport for deployment there’ … It goes on and on except he wasn’t there,” he told Ross and Russ.
