Sly’s big doubt over Victoria’s new bail changes

Sly of the Underworld has cast doubt on whether Victoria’s new bail changes will make any noticeable difference to the state’s crime levels.

The Allan government is set to announce sweeping bail law reforms on Tuesday.

Central to the changes are a ban on machetes and a hardline crackdown on aggravated burglaries.

“The main problem will not be addressed,” Sly told Ross and Russ.

“The (issue) is the delay between charging someone and getting them to court.”
