Small fire on a train causing commuter chaos on Sunbury, Werribee, Williamstown lines

Reports of a small fire on a train between South Kensington and Footscray caused major delays for commuters.

Metro advises trains have resumed on the Werribee, Williamstown and Sunbury lines.

The MFB received a call from Metro trains after reports of a small fire.

3AW Afternoons caller Alan said he was due to catch the 2.16pm Flinders Street Station heading to Werribee.

“It’s chaos on the trains,” he said.

“All they’ve told us is make your own transport arrangements.”
