‘Smell the roses’: The rental group angering rental owners

A rental group has sparked outrage after telling homeowners who can afford a rental property to smell the roses as they own “more property than most people ever will.”

The executive director of Better Renting, Joel Dignam, says he’s unsure why rental owners object to being called “lucky.”

“I don’t think it goes, that just because you’re lucky, you’re not also hard-working. I think it probably takes a lot of things, but there’s a lot of hard-working people who don’t own any properties and I think maybe the difference is a bit of good fortune, ” he told Tom Elliott.
