Australian Builders Collective president Phil Dwyer has painted a bleak picture of Victoria’s building industry.

His comments come on the back of over 3,000 notices being issued by the Victoria Building Authority in the 2022-23 financial year following dodgy work at properties.

Mr Dwyer has detailed the issues with the building industry right now, including a shortage of works and example of corners being cut in order to complete jobs.

“The building industry is not an industry you want to be involved in at the moment,” he told Neil Mitchell on 3AW Mornings.

“There’s so many problems in the industry at the moment.”

He also claims that parents of tradies are advising their children against pursuing a career in the industry as a result of the current problems.
