Soaring food and grocery manufacturing costs could yet get worse
Australian food and grocery manufacturers are facing cost increases of up to 700 per cent since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
And it could flow through to consumers.
Tanya Barden, CEO of the Australian Food and Grocery Council, said there had been a perfect storm of factors and it’s not just the pandemic to blame.
Unfortunately, she says it could yet get worse.
“I think they could,” she said.
