Some teachers are reportedly telling students to conform to their political views if they want good marks.

Dr Kevin Donnelly, from the Australian Catholic University, told Tom Elliott he knew of a tutor who had students being marked down for that reason.

‘He tells Year 12 kids how to write a politically correct essay,’ Dr Donnelly explained on 3AW.

‘The students were telling him that their teachers were very ALP/Green oriented and, to get a good mark, you had to tell them what they wanted to hear.’

Tom said it’s an indictment on the education system, if true.

State opposition leader Matthew Guy wasn’t surprised by the claims, saying he’d once been failed at university for not presenting a left-wing view on World War 1.

‘I thought the question was ridiculous,’ he said.
