Speed camera operator targeted twice within an hour

A mobile speed camera vehicle has been damaged and the operator threatened in two attacks within a hour.

Two men approached the vehicle on Civic Parade in Altona on January 25.

The first man approached the car on a bike and was verbally aggressive towards the operator before spitting on the window and punching the car mirror.

An hour later, a man in a balaclava splashed white paint on the car and threatened the operator with a tomahawk.

Police have released vision of the attacks in the hope someone will recognise the men.

The attackers were seen fleeing along Civic Parade. One was seen getting into a black Mercedes C-Class or smilar.

The traffic car operator was not injured.

Police believe the two attacks are linked.
