Spencer Tunick explains his controversial Prahran picture plan to Tom Elliott
Acclaimed controversial artist Spencer Tunick has told Tom Elliott he is “very disappointed” in Woolworths’ decision not to allow his photoshoot to take place on its Prahran rooftop.
Speaking from New York, Tunick told Tom there’s nowhere else in Melbourne he wants to take the photo.
“It’s very disappointing that the one place that I want to do it, that is so out of the way and only a bird would see see naked people,” Tunick said.
“I don’t want to do it anywhere else, how I’m going to get it to happen, I don’t know.”

“I thought it was wonderful location, very barren, apocalyptic, it reminded me from scene from the movie Vanilla Sky,” he added.
“I was up there at 9.30 in the morning and there was only four cars on the roof.
“I just don’t know if they’re (Woolworths) really seeing the whole picture here.”
